Measuring change

  1. Environmental changes can be measured using living or non-living indicators
  2. Living indicators

    1. Lichens can be used as air pollution indicators, particularly of the concentration of sulfur dioxide in the atmosphere
    2. Invertebrate animals can be used as water pollution indicators and are used to indicate the concentration of dissolved oxygen in the water
  3. Non-living indicators

    1. Oxygen levels
    2. Temperature
    3. Rainfall
